Notes from the Presenter

Participants need to bring:

Photo of portrait they wish to draw printed out prior to workshop

*I personally recommend doing a self portrait...because your own face will be there with you for observation!

* I HIGHLY recommend a pic with no teeth showing.  You'll thank me later.

* Casual shots, even selfies work better than posed, studio pics.

* Have the whole head in the picture...do not use a photo where part of the head is cropped out of the pic (it makes it more difficult for you to get proportions correct)

* head & shoulders only

* size of printer paper if possible

*black & white preferred

I can enlarge or make a black & white copy in Studio if necessary, but I can NOT print out photographs.

We will be using regular drawing paper.  If you prefer a nicer paper, like a Reeves BFK, you are welcome to bring that yourself.  I do recommend NOT using any paper that has a lot of tooth!

This is going to be a "looser" not super technical, more observational approach to drawing. Less focus on details, and more on the larger forms, shadows and highlights before adding lines and details.
