MONTHLY PROGRAM/MEETINGS

Gaston County Art Guild Monthy Meeting

Featuring Lisa Livengood

Tuesday Evening November 12, 2024

Miniature Show Reception at 6:00 - program presentation immediately after.

We are so lucky to have Lisa Livengood as our judge for the 2024 annual Miniature Show which is held at the Gastonia Public Library's Main Branch.

I began my studies in Art at Appalachian State University and graduated with a BS/BA Degree in Art Ed. and Studio Arts.
Never once thinking that teaching Art in both public and private schools across the Carolina’s and Georgia would last for the next 40 years. .. It was, however; this career that kept me grounded and focused and for that, I am most grateful.
Along the path, I was fortunate to have furthered my studies at, The University of South Carolina as well later attending, The Savanna  College of Art and Design, to work on an MFA program - concentrating in, Fiber Arts.
Now living in Charlotte, I’m so fortunate to share a studio among a devoted group of very fine artists, where I primarily paint. We’re located at the McAdenville Artist Workshop and Studio, operated by, Artist, Carol Carstaphen.
Trying to pull 3-D shapes into the process, I recently purchased a kiln and potter’s wheel to see where this will lead. Nature is always a source of mental strength and it’s the tiniest things that fascinate and intrigue my thought's and questions.
