OFFICERS/BOARD MEMBERS

2023-2024 Board officers

The Board of Directors of the Gaston County Art Guild thank you for taking the time to vote on the chosen Board Officers for FY 2023-2024.  The officers are listed below and will serve from June, 2023-July 2024.

   Gina Odonoghue, President

Gina comes from a long background in jewelry sales and design. She worked in the retail industry for many years. She started painting for fun in the early 2000's. She feels so fortunate to have studied oil painting at Butler Studio. She studied acrylics online during lockdowns and later found the Gaston County Art Guild through our plein air group. She has been a part of the Gaston County Art Guild's Board of Directors since 2021 taking care of Membership. She is excited to work with so many talented artists in our local community. She has two daughters with her husband Mike and loves living in Belmont. Her work has been displayed in local Galleries and Museum's. She specializes in fluid acrylic painting but can work with oils, acrylics, watercolors, & mixed media.

 Jill Meeks, Secretary

Jill began to draw pet sketches for family and friends as practice.  She soon received more and more requests.  After her retirement in 2020, she wanted to expand her art experience and started to paint.  Although she taught herself pet sketching, she found painting to be challenging and took an on-line class.  The instruction encouraged the students to paint plein aire, which let her to the CGAG plein air group.  She continues to learn and develop friendships with other artiists in the group.  She continues her art adventure with the guild.

 Dorothy Lodge, Treasurer

Dorothy took up oil painting after her retirement from Gaston County Schools.  She was a teacher, assistant principal and principal, finally becoming Chief Accountability Officer for the school system.  In addition to painting, she creates fabric art.  She loves all things outdoors.  She hikes, bikes, paddles, and travels.  She believes art is key in education and in life.

 Cam Tracy, Past President

Cam has served two terms as president of the Gaston County Art Guild. She moved to the Carolina’s in her 20’s and was inspired by the diverse and scenic subject matter of the Piedmont area. This led to an interest in studying oil painting. Recently, she found a passion for en plein air and facilitates the Art Guild plein air group.
